Ossipee Valley Christian School is a 501c(3) non-profit private school owned by two churches: Limerick Free Baptist Church and Hilltop Baptist Church. OVCS is located in Cornish, Maine, which is approximately 25 miles NW of Portland. It was established in 1979 and serves approximately 30 students in PreK – 8th grade. The majority of the students attending come from the SAD 55 and SAD 57 area. However, students travel from as far as Ossipee, N.H. and Bridgton, Maine to attend our school. OVCS is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
The 2011-2012 school year will be Ossipee Valley Christian School’s thirty-third year of operation (it opened September, 1979); its 15th year of using the facility at Hilltop Baptist Church (it moved there in September, 1997); and its 13th year of co-ownership by the two churches (becoming jointly owned and incorporated in September, 1999; then receiving its 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt status from the IRS in August of 2001).
