OVCS was blessed to have Robert Bruneau, a missionary from Costa Rica, present the chapel message this week. Robert graciously stayed the entire school day (which was our “International Day” for March Crazy Days) and helped the 3^rd – 5^th grade students prepare a typical Costa Rican meal of rice and beans with plantains. The kids set the table with real dishes and silverware. It was a delicious meal and a nice chance to fellowship with our special guest. We are thankful for the opportunity God prepared for us today and appreciate the time Robert spent teaching, serving, and fellowshipping with our students.

Candy Bar Sales have slowed down. Please come to us if you need assistance with your remaining bars. A deadline has not been set, but we would like to see things wrap up soon. Also, Grandparent’s Day is coming up on Friday, March 19th. Invitations have gone home. Please invite grandparents and senior friends to this special event. Our annual jeopardy game is always fun. Plus, there will be a wonderful luncheon provided by PTF to show our appreciation to our special guests.

I am pleased to tell you that we have created a page for OVCS Events. Under this page you will find a link to our “Google Calendar.” Please be patient with us as we work on updating the information. Once we have done the initial legwork, we will be committed to regularly updating events. This calendar will include regularly scheduled activities, such as monthly ministries, as well as special events, such as Grandparent’s Day or field trips. It is our hope that this will help to keep you informed.

Check out the “Carpet Pictures” page under “Teacher Biographies” to see before and after pictures of the two classrooms. Ofcourse, pictures don’t have the same effect as an in-person visit!

Just a note for the sake of encouragement — Upon returning from break, Mr. Dunbar’s room and Mr. Weirick’s room will have new ceiling tile, new wall-to-wall commercial grade carpet, and new trim! Also, thanks to Mrs. A and her crew (OVCS alumni) the stairwell leading up to the gym has been painted top to bottom. On top of that, the kitchen cabinets were cleaned out and given a fresh coat of paint, as well. Please make sure to thank Mrs. A for her thoughtfulness. Also, give thanks to Jesse Winters for his leg work with the carpet and the trustees at Hilltop for their initiative with the ceiling tiles.
