Kicking Off the 2023 Soccer Season

The 2023 soccer season has officially begun at Ossipee Valley Christian School!

This is always a fun time for the students and coaches, plus attending a game a great way for family and community members to show their school spirit and support!

Ossipee Valley Christian School is part of the Maine Christian School Sports League (MCSSL). Our soccer program is co-ed, we welcome homeschoolers to join us, and we currently have four different levels of participation.

We do our best to ensure all practices and games are scheduled for weekdays. Practices and home games are held at the soccer field beside Metcalf’s, in Cornish.

Varsity Soccer Team

Our Varsity soccer team is made up of High School students (9^th – 12^th grade), coached by Jason DeLapp.

This year, varsity team practices start August 28^th. We typically practice twice per week, and students participate in 10 games through October.

VARSITY Game Schedule (weather permitting):

1. 9/7 HOME vs Solid Rock @4:45pm
2. 9/14 Away at Oxford Hills @4:45pm
3. 9/19 Away at CMCA @4:10pm
4. 9/21 HOME vs GPCA @4:45pm
5. 9/25 Away at WCA @4:30pm
6. 9/26 HOME vs Seacoast @4:45pm
7. 9/28 HOME vs Coastal @4:00pm
8. 10/2 Away at Living Waters @4:10pm
9. 10/5 HOME vs Grace @4:00pm
10. 10/10 Away at Grace @4:00pm

HOME Games are played at the soccer field beside Metcalf’s in Cornish.

All soccer players need to be at the field and ready to play 30 minutes prior to the start of the game.

The season will end mid-late October (depending on how far we make it).

Preliminaries are October 16^th & 17^th. Quarters are October 19^th & 20^th. Semi-finals and Finals are the week of October 23^rd.

Junior Varsity Soccer Team

Our Junior Varsity or Middle School soccer team is made up of 4^th – 8^th grade students, coached by Scott Weirick with Aaron Smith.

This year, JV team practices start August 29^th. We typically practice 1-2 times per week, and students participate in 7 games through October.

2. 9/14 Away at Oxford Hills @3:30pm
3. 9/19 Away at CMCA @3:00pm
4. 9/21 HOME vs GPCA @3:30pm

6. 10/2 Away at Living Waters @3:00pm
7. 10/10 HOME vs WCA @4:00pm

Intermediate

Our Intermediate team is made up of 1st-3rd grade (4th graders are welcome if they do not want to be on the middle school team this year) coached by John Lancaster, Nick Harpin, and Paul Farris.

This group focuses on skills & drills and learning the basics of soccer. We meet once a week for about an hour through mid or late October on our school grounds.

Pewee

Our Pewee team is primarily Pre-K & Kindergarten students, coached by Kelly Dayfield.

Similar to our intermediate team, this group also focuses on skills & drills and learning the basics of soccer. We meet once a week for up to an hour through mid or late October right at our school.

Mark Your Calendars!

We strongly encourage anyone who is interested to attend a Varsity or JV soccer game (or two or three) this season. It can be a lot of fun and the players LOVE seeing friends and family show up to cheer them on and show support.
