The 2024-2025 basketball season is upon us at Ossipee Valley Christian School!
This is always a fun time for the students and coaches, and attending a game a great way for family and community members to show their team spirit and support!
We currently have six different levels of participation for basketball, teams are co-ed at the younger levels and gender specific only at the Varsity level.
Varsity Team
Our Boys Varsity team is made up of High School students (9th – 12th grade), coached by our athletic director, Pastor Cody Almanzar and Ken Gardner.
We start varsity team practices in November, and students participate in games December through February.

- 12/12 Away to Central Maine (New Gloucester) @ 5:30pm
- 12/17 HOME vs Central Maine @ 6pm
- 1/2 Away to Pine Tree (Freeport) @ 4:45pm
- 1/7 HOME vs Chop Point @ 4pm
- 1/9 HOME vs Greater Portland @ 4:45pm
- 1/16 Away to Seacoast Christian (South Berwick) @ 4:30pm
- 1/21 Away to Central Hybrid (Augusta) @ 5pm
- 1/23 HOME vs Living Waters @ 4pm
- 1/27 HOME vs Living Waters @ 5pm
- 1/28 HOME vs Penobscot @ 5:30pm
- Preliminaries and quarters are the week of Feb 3rd
- Semi-finals and Finals are the week of Feb 10th
HOME Games are played right at our school gym in Cornish! Players should arrive 30 minutes before game time.

Middle School Team
Our middle school team is co-ed, made up of 5th – 8th grade students, coached by Ken Baratta & Jason DeLapp.
We start middle school team practices in November, and students participate in games December through February.

3rd & 4th Grade Teams
This is the third year we are offering this amazing opportunity for our 3rd & 4th graders to learn and grow more before going on to our middle school team. We have two teams- Intermediate GIRLS Team & Intermediate BOYS Team. This team is coached by Cliff Murch.
They practice once a week at our gym from 3 – 4pm beginning on Wednesday 12/04, and then play one game a week against some Waterboro Rec teams at their facility.
Games are on Friday evenings, starting in January.

Pewee/Intermediate
Our Pewee/Intermediate team is primarily Pre-K – 2nd grade students, coached by Brendan O’Neill.
This group focuses on skills & drills and learning the basics of basketball. They meet once a week from 3 – 4pm in our gym starting Monday 12/02 – lasting 6 weeks (excluding holidays).

We strongly encourage anyone who is interested to attend a Varsity or Middle School game (or two) this month. It can be a lot of fun and the players LOVE seeing friends and family show up.
