OVCS Boys Varsity Basketball Team Win the MCSSL Championship in a Historic Victory!
On February 14th, history was made at Ossipee Valley Christian School (OVCS) as our Boys Varsity Basketball team secured the Maine Christian School Sports League (MCSSL) Championship with a thrilling 35-32 victory over Central Maine Christian Academy (CMCA). This win marks our Varsity Boys first championship title in 16 years, making it a truly unforgettable moment for our school, our students, and our community.
What makes this victory even more remarkable is the journey that led to it. Just three years ago, our team members were picking up a basketball for the first time. Through dedication, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to growth, these young men have transformed into champions. Their hard work, guided by faith and the incredible support of their coaches, families, and peers, has culminated in this momentous achievement.
The championship game was nothing short of a battle. Facing off against a skilled CMCA team, our boys displayed incredible teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. Every point mattered in this intense matchup, and it was their discipline, heart, and trust in one another that carried them to victory.
“Two years ago, we set the goal of becoming MCSSL champions for 2024/2025. It feels surreal that we accomplished our goal. God put it in the boys’ hearts to work incredibly hard to become champions.
