OVCS Boys Named 2026 MCSSL Championship Finalists

Three Years at the Top: OVCS Boys Named 2026 MCSSL Championship Finalists

For the third year in a row, the Ossipee Valley Christian School (OVCS) Boys Varsity Basketball team has earned its place in the Maine Christian School Sports League (MCSSL) Championship Finals – an incredible accomplishment and a powerful reflection of the culture being built within our program.

Three consecutive Finals appearances. Let that sink in.

This kind of consistency doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of dedication, and a commitment to grow, not just as athletes, but as young men of character and faith.

What makes this three-year run even more special is the journey behind it. Many of these players began their basketball experience still learning the fundamentals. Season after season, they have chosen discipline over shortcuts, teamwork over individual glory, and faith over fear. They’ve grown stronger, more confident, and more united with each passing year.

“This group of young men continues to raise the standard for what OVCS Basketball represents. Their commitment to one another, their work ethic, and the way they honor God through competition is something truly special. I couldn’t be prouder of how they show up – on and off the court.”

Cody Almanzar, Varsity Head Coach and OVCS Athletic Director

Reaching the Championship Finals three consecutive seasons is an extraordinary achievement. It reflects exceptional leadership, deep unity, and a team that consistently rises to the moment.

More than wins and losses, this run represents growth, belief, and a program built on faith and perseverance.

We are incredibly proud of these young men for their hard work, character, and commitment to one another. Thank you to our OVCS families, fans, and supporters who continue to fill the stands and lift this team up in prayer and encouragement.

In addition to another incredible Championship Finals appearance, OVCS is proud to celebrate our MCSSL All-Star selections for the 2025–2026 season. These student-athletes have demonstrated outstanding skill, leadership, and sportsmanship throughout the year, earning recognition among the league’s top players.

Congratulations to Jed Burrows and Vivian Almanzar (Middle School), Fiona Almanzar (Girls Varsity), and Donovan Harvey and Zeke Almanzar (Boys Varsity) on this well-deserved honor. Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to representing OVCS with excellence make our entire school community proud.

The future is bright for OVCS Basketball.
