OVCS Work-a-Thon 2021
Work-a-Thon – when OVCS goes into the local community offering our services to those in need.

It is that time of year, again, when the entire school, grades PreK – 12, pull together to do yard work and fall clean-up for the elderly, disabled, or even folks with temporary need for encouragement and help.

This year’s Work-a-thon is scheduled for Friday, October 22nd.

Note: PreK families are not required to do fundraising. The PreK students will form a team and help around the school on the day of the event!

Last year, we put together 8 teams that visited 14 job sites! This event serves as a pledge-drive fundraiser for our ministry, but all of our services are FREE to those we help. Leading up to the event, students raise pledges from friends and families who support our efforts and those funds benefit the programming at our school.

The goal for each OVCS Family is $500 in pledges. Many folks seek pledges through Facebook, phone calling, letter writing, and face-to-face. If we each do our part, then we will meet our school-wide goal of $16,000.

In addition, there will be incentives and prizes for reaching certain checkpoints and goals, including free jean’s days and some form of headmaster torture (like last years soaking). So, please set your sites on meeting this year’s goal and watch our Facebook page for updates along the way.

If you know someone in need or would like to contribute to our 2021 work-a-thon (which blesses both the school and the community), please contact us.
